After you purchase high-integrity carbon credits on the Sikoli website, we will transparently retire them on your behalf in the Gold Standard Impact or VERRA Registry, under the name or business name provided at checkout. This ensures the credits are not recirculated or resold.
A Retirement Certificate, documenting the purchase details and providing links to the credit retirements, will be sent to the email address used for purchasing these carbon credits.
Retirement: A carbon credit is “retired” when it is purchased for carbon offsetting purposes and subsequently cancelled or “retired” in the Gold Standard or VERRA Registry. This means the carbon credit can no longer be bought or sold.
