Biochar Carbon Removal Credits

Locking carbon in the soil — and helping your organisation turn carbon removal into lasting regeneration.

Across rural Togo, farmers face declining soil fertilityunpredictable rainfall, and shrinking yields. Yet within the same land lies one of the most powerful tools to fight climate change — carbon-rich soil.

Our biochar project transforms agricultural waste into a stable form of carbon that remains locked in the soil for centuries. Made using clean, low-emission kilns, biochar improves soil health, increases water retention, and boosts crop yields — turning waste into a resource for both climate and community.

High-integrity carbon removal credits that regenerate land, strengthen livelihoods, and support Science Based Targets and Beyond Value Chain Mitigation (BVCM) goals.

Certified for Integrity

Why Buyers Choose This Project

  • Recognised Quality: Preparing for certification under the Artisan Carbon Standard — designed specifically for small-scale, farmer-led biochar projects.

  • Proven Carbon Removal: Each tonne of biochar permanently removes carbon from the atmosphere, verified through conservative life-cycle assessments.

  • Co-Benefits That Matter: Improved soil fertility, higher yields, and sustainable income for smallholder farmers.

  • Story-Led Impact: Every partnership includes verified data and compelling community stories to bring your climate reporting to life.

  • Future-Ready: Credits will be fully traceable and eligible for Beyond Value Chain Mitigation (BVCM) under SBTi guidance.

Locally Led Innovation

Working with farming cooperatives across Togo, we train farmers to produce biochar using clean, low-emission kilns built from locally available materials.

Each farmer turns agricultural residues — once burned or wasted — into biochar, enriching the soil and locking carbon away for centuries.

“The soil used to dry out within days. Now it holds moisture, the crops are stronger, and I sell biochar to other farmers in the cooperative.”
 — Koffi, Farmer and Biochar Producer, Togo

Connecting Climate Data with Human Stories

Every Carbon Kind credit is more than a number — it’s a verified impact you can confidently communicate.

Partners receive a suite of story-led materials, including:

  • Impact Certificate confirming verified results

  • Story Pack with community photos and profiles

  • Messaging Guide for ESG and brand reporting

  • Annual Updates with new data and stories

These resources make it easy to demonstrate measurable results and authentic human impact, helping your stakeholders see how your investment delivers real regeneration on the ground.
