Vashti Seth
Co-Founder and Director
With 16 years of experience in community development as the Founder and CEO of Deki, I’ve seen how practical, locally led solutions can create powerful change.I’m passionate about using carbon finance as a tool to address both climate change and inequality — and to help businesses take responsibility for the emissions they can’t yet eliminate in a way that is ethical, transparent, and genuinely impactful.
At Carbon Kind, we’re reimagining carbon finance by placing communities at the centre of climate action. Our projects deliver sustainable solutions that reduce carbon emissions, strengthen livelihoods, and build long-term resilience.
We reinvest directly into the communities we work with, ensuring climate finance supports practical improvements to daily life while restoring ecosystems.
I’m committed to making the transition to a low-carbon future inclusive, ethical, and community-led. If you’re looking for high-integrity carbon credits that create real impact for people and the planet, I’d love to connect.

Katy Bird
Business Development Manager
As Business Development Manager at Carbon Kind, I’m passionate about creating sustainable, community-led change in Togo, West Africa. I focus particularly on empowering rural communities, especially women, to build resilience to poverty and climate change by providing the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
I help lead business development with a focus on ethical carbon finance. At Carbon Kind, we’re redefining the carbon market by ensuring that profits are reinvested into real, long-term impact for the communities at the heart of our projects.
I bring a background in financial services, having worked as a litigation manager at the Bank of Ireland and previously as a mortgage advisor, with ILEX and CeMAP qualifications.
I’m also a qualified Hatha Yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. Teaching yoga helps me stay grounded and brings balance, mindfulness, and compassion into all areas of my life and work.
If you'd like to find out more about purchasing ethical, community-led carbon credits, please get in touch.

Christian Kadangah
Co-Founder and Country Director
With over 13 years of experience in inclusive microfinance, I left my role at a microfinance bank in 2011 to launch IADES, a grassroots organisation focused on community development and financial inclusion in rural Togo. I hold qualifications in finance and accounting from the University of Lomé.
My passion for financial inclusion has evolved into a strong belief in the power of carbon finance to create both climate and social impact.
I co-founded Carbon Kind to develop ethical, community-led projects that reduce emissions and help people build brighter, more resilient futures.I believe that for vulnerable communities to thrive, they need access to essential services and the opportunity to restore their land. That’s why I’m proud to be part of a mission that puts people and the planet at the heart of climate action, working closely with our sister organisation, Deki, to bring lasting change to rural Togo.

Mark Burchfield
Co-Founder
With a background in financial investment, I’ve always been driven by opportunities that create both economic and social value. I’ve grown my company in data and energy services to become a market leader in the UK and Central Europe.
I see carbon finance as a powerful tool to make a sustainable, scalable impact on both people and the planet. That belief led me to co-found Carbon Kind, where we develop ethical, community-based carbon projects that deliver real climate benefits while improving lives.
For me, it’s about more than offsetting emissions. It’s about investing in long-term change that regenerates the environment and empowers communities. I’m proud to be part of a team that puts integrity, impact, and people at the heart of every project.
